Ultimate Rifts - Hardcover or Softcover?

Palladium is putting out a new edition of the venerable "Rifts" game. What they want to know from you is - should they put out this 300+ page tome in hardcover or softcover?

You decide...

Personally, I like most of my gaming books to come in hardcover. It seems to protect the pages better than the softcovers in my opinion. The only downfall that I see to hardcover books are just that, they are hardcover. Which means they are less ply-able and cant just stuff it into a bag with ease. Not that I would want to do that with a roleplaying game book.

I'm also a fan of hardcovers but apparently Palladium has been using price as one of their main selling points. So much so that they recently characterized other publishers as "raping" their customers with the prices of their core books. With that in mind they want to make sure that they aren't pricing their fanbase out of the market.

The funny thing is that this poll is unlikely to reach the people that have THAT much of a problem paying an extra $10 to purchase a hardcover so the poll is likely to be skewed in favor of it.
