Your thoughts on the Game of Thrones RPG?
So, I'm curious. How much interest is there out there in the forthcoming Game of Thrones RPG? I know the the books are hugely popular (I know that I devour each one as they are released) and the CCG ALMOST took off here... but the new RPG is going to be on the expensive side for an RPG. $50 is not unheard of (the Conan book was $50) but it's not often that they come out at that price point.So.. and here a good chance for you to test-drive the new comments feature... What do YOU think? Is this something you think that you'd be interested in picking up? Have you even read the series? Do you know what I'm talking about at all? Did you happen to wander over here while looking for pictures of Griffons?
We want to hear what you have to say.

I suppose it would be worth clarifying that this game is both D20, and Non-D20 (GOO's Tri-Stat system being the Non-D20 system being used).
Actually, the 50$ version has D20 rules only. The TriStat edition will sell for 35$ or 40$. If you want both rulesets you could go for the limited deluxe edition for 100$.
I'm looking forward to this book, the SoIF hat great rping potential.
I played in a Game of Thrones RPG demo at GenCon last week and it has so hungery for more. I played the d20 version and it had some pretty cool tweeks that made the world pop out.
I recommend it.
There is also the opportunity to by a PDF download for $24.99 from www.drivethrurpg.com. Although i will still be buying the book when it gets released. Its a pretty good job that ive got a sh*thot printer at my office (489pages would take a fair while on an epson photjet :))
Although ive only had it for a couple of days the changes they have made to the D20 system look pretty far reaching in terms of affecting the flavour of the gameplay. a definite hit for me.
I just picked up the D20 book and I must say that I've been looking for an RPG like this for sooooo long. It gives that midevil feeling while not killing it with "fantasy" - one of the things I like most is that the book is played out as if "everyone" is human. (unless dwarf or Giants blood feat). I would tell everyone to burn D&D books to keep warm...."The Winter is Coming" and this game is what you should play.
I have to concur with the positive posts as well, though I am a bit late to the party here.
What is fascinating is how DEADLY combat is. I game with a group of powergamers and this system keeps them somewhat honest.
It is just really interesting that the Reputation, Influence and Social Status rules are very useful in providing fun to what is traditionally the forgotten segment of the typical gaming session.
I have the regular D20 edition and I think this is one of if not the best RPG of it's style. No more BS about magic and undead everywhere. Finally a game with plot. This is wonderful!!
