Privateer Press' Continuing Growing Pains

You have to hand it to them. Privateer Press does a fantastic job of keeping everybody aware of what's going on and seem to be doing a good job of dealing with the pressures of having one of the most popular miniature games on the market.

"Dear Players, Retailers, and Distributors of WARMACHINE,

As always, Privateer Press is committed to finding the best course through growing a new company and promoting its products. The recent surge in restock orders has made it abundantly clear that our current production capacity is insufficient to meet the current

demand of WARMACHINE products. To that end, we are in the process of securing a new facility that will allow us to grow our production capability to an adequate size. However, these improvements will take time and won't be available to us until after the first of the new year.

In an effort to remedy the current log jam of back orders, we have arrived at the difficult decision to push our new releases back one month, starting with the November releases. So, all new releases scheduled for November will release in December, then December's in January, and so on. The latest solicitations for January will be rerun as February releases, and then as of March, we will be back on schedule with everything releasing as it has been advertised. We realize that this is an inconvenience for all players, retailers and distributors alike, and that many of you cannot wait to get your hands on those new releases. However, we hope that you will support this decision, realizing that the growth of the WARMACHINE market is dependent on the availability of restock items like the starter boxes, and that WARMACHINE's longevity is entirely dependent on growing a robust and thriving community of players.

We apologize for this inconvenience and are sorry to disappoint anyone eager to receive their upcoming WARMACHINE releases. We do believe this is the best move we can make at this time to help alleviate the backorder issue and your support as always is greatly appreciated.

Please note that the delay is only for the miniatures, The Witchfire Trilogy Collected Edition (PIP 004) and No Quarter Magazine Issue #3 (PIP NQ03) will still release in November. Street dates to be announced."

Sincerely,
Privateer Press

As a retailer, I am so greatful that they are being public about the delays. Keeps me from looking like a total heel when I can't fill special orders that should be standard stock in the first place.

And crickey, everyone and their friend is playing in the store these days!
