High Stakes Drifter Coming in November

The Wild West was never as much fun as the betting-and-bluffing world of High Stakes Drifter! The hustlers, gamblers, lawmen, first nations, and outlaws have all thrown in their chips, and only those with nerves of steel and the right mix of skill, luck, and smarts will prevail! Combining elements of traditional saloon games and featuring photography and personalities from the Wild West such as Billy the Kid and Wyatt Earp, High Stakes Drifter is the first collectable card game (CCG) from WizKids and the first CCG that gets better as more players sit down at the table. Special kicker chips add just a pinch of luck, but the greatest bettors and bluffers will prevail in the dusty world of High Stakes Drifter!

It looks like we'll be getting this around the second week in November. Shortly thereafter we'll be holding a special release event so you can get a chance to check out this new game. I don't know about you but this is one that I've been waiting for. It pushes a lot of my buttons. I like poker, I like the Old West, I like collectible card games... so there's a lot here to like.

Which Sci-Fi/Fantasy Character are you?

Which Fantasy/SciFi Character Are You?So, not only am I a D6, I'm also Worf from Star Trek The Next Generation. This one's a little interesting because there seem to be a lot of different characters to choose from and from a variety of different shows/movies. Worf isn't one that comes up very often. Apparently there are a lot of Galadriel's in the world (if only that were true...).

Find out who you are.

Oh, and in case you're curious I'm also a Lawful Good Half Elf Ranger-Fighter. According to Which D&D Character are you?

Which Polyhedral are You?

I'm a D6. I'm not sure that I should be happy about that or not. It is probably the most well-known of dice. It's not particularly sexy though. I'll ponder on this a while more...

Privateer Press' Continuing Growing Pains

You have to hand it to them. Privateer Press does a fantastic job of keeping everybody aware of what's going on and seem to be doing a good job of dealing with the pressures of having one of the most popular miniature games on the market.

"Dear Players, Retailers, and Distributors of WARMACHINE,

As always, Privateer Press is committed to finding the best course through growing a new company and promoting its products. The recent surge in restock orders has made it abundantly clear that our current production capacity is insufficient to meet the current

demand of WARMACHINE products. To that end, we are in the process of securing a new facility that will allow us to grow our production capability to an adequate size. However, these improvements will take time and won't be available to us until after the first of the new year.

In an effort to remedy the current log jam of back orders, we have arrived at the difficult decision to push our new releases back one month, starting with the November releases. So, all new releases scheduled for November will release in December, then December's in January, and so on. The latest solicitations for January will be rerun as February releases, and then as of March, we will be back on schedule with everything releasing as it has been advertised. We realize that this is an inconvenience for all players, retailers and distributors alike, and that many of you cannot wait to get your hands on those new releases. However, we hope that you will support this decision, realizing that the growth of the WARMACHINE market is dependent on the availability of restock items like the starter boxes, and that WARMACHINE's longevity is entirely dependent on growing a robust and thriving community of players.

We apologize for this inconvenience and are sorry to disappoint anyone eager to receive their upcoming WARMACHINE releases. We do believe this is the best move we can make at this time to help alleviate the backorder issue and your support as always is greatly appreciated.

Please note that the delay is only for the miniatures, The Witchfire Trilogy Collected Edition (PIP 004) and No Quarter Magazine Issue #3 (PIP NQ03) will still release in November. Street dates to be announced."

Sincerely,
Privateer Press

Forum Hacked..

The discussion forum was hacked yesterday and we lost all of our data - for the time being. If you were a participant in the forum you'll need to sign up for an account again. We've also added more security to the sign-up process to keep the idiots out so you'll have to wait for activation from the forum administrator (Zack).

Ravnica: City of Guilds In Stock Now!

Ravnica: City of Guilds, the latest expansion for the game Magic: The Gathering, arrived this week and is now available.

The Ravnica set introduces four out of a set of ten new mana symbols. "Half-half" mana symbols are half one color and half another color. Cards that have half-half mana symbols in their mana costs are called "hybrid" cards. Hybrid cards are multicolored cards. Unlike other multicolored cards, which appear in a gold frame, hybrid cards appear in a two-tone frame; the left half of the card's frame is one of its colors and the right half is its other color.

Saturday, October 7th at 1:pm we'll be running a Ravnica Draft Event so come on by and give the new set a try!

Which Serenity Character Are you?

I got Wash... That rocks. Which Serenity Character Are you?

You scored as Hoban 'Wash' Washburne. The Pilot. You are a leaf on the wind, see how you soar. You have a good job, and a stunning wife who loves you (and can kill people). Life is good, which is why you can't help smiling. Now if you can just get people to actually listen to your opinion things would be perfect.

Revised Witchfire Trilogy is Coming

Privateer Press has finally gotten around to revising the series that put them on the map. I'm talking about the Witchfire Trilogy of course. This adventure was our first glimpse of the Iron Kingdoms and now that they have the setting books out you can place it into your existing Iron Kingdoms campaign, or use it to kick off a new campaign. Maybe you're a Warmachine fan and want to explore the setting in a different way. In any case, this is a solid adventure that many people have been waiting a long time for.

The Witchfire Trilogy provides the perfect entry point to the popular Iron Kingdoms campaign setting. This standalone campaign adventure for characters of levels 1-7 (or higher) contains monsters, locales, magical creations, firearms, and intriguing characters to introduce players to western Immoren.

The Witchfire Trilogy Collected Edition brings together the original award-winning trilogy of The Longest Night, Shadow of the Exile, and The Legion of Lost Souls, updates them to the 3.5 revision rules, and includes two bridge adventures to keep players adventuring in and around Corvis, the City of Ghosts.

Privateer Press is also producing a line of miniatures specific for to this adventure. So you'll be able to fully represent all of the major characters on the tabletop.
