AT-43 Coming This Christmas
I spotted a couple of pretty cool pictures of Rackham's upcoming pre-painted mini game - AT-43. If these don't make you sit up and take notice then you're already dead...
So I just checked out the Rackham website. They have a teaser site for AT-43 that answers a couple of questions for me. I thought that "43" might refer to the year 1943. Some of the early speculation about the game had this as an alternate history game. It's not AT-43 refers to it being 43 years after the "trauma"... possibly the alien invation referred to in the brief intro on the site. So, it's definitely future-based.
Oh, another interesting piece of info. Although the miniatures will be pre-painted, this is NOT a collectible miniatures game as people have been assuming for a while. You'll be purchasing sets of minis, not random assortments.
Even though I'm a huge fan of painting minis I don't feel that every game that includes miniatures needs to supply them unpainted. I'm interested to see how the final product turns out and whether or not the rules will be something that people will actually be able to comprehend.
