Holiday Season Decal Shutdown

This is just a note to our decal customers that for the period between the 15th of December and the 1st of January the decal production and distribution facility will be shut down for the holidays. This is so that the entire staff (me) can head home for the holidays and spend some much needed time with the family.

Over the past year my move West has made the decal side of the business a challenge. There have been hiccups here and there and we all appreciate your patience. As the decal business is something that I do when I'm not working at my day job, it doesn't always get the attention it deserves. It's not how I would like things to be, it's merely the reality of the situation.

We've heard from one of our suppliers that our supply of inks for the printer are starting to run dry. For those that don't know, we create our decals with a printer that is no longer being manufactured. Fortunately for us, when a manufacturer stops producing a printer they still have to maintain a supply of inks for it for a period of years afterwards so as to not screw over the customers that just purchased it. Unfortuately for us, it looks like that time period may be over. How will that affect our decal production in the future has yet to be determined. We may shift to doing a smaller line of screen-printed decals like our Pro-Series, or we may leave the business all together. For the short-term we'll continue on as we have over the past... wow... I guess it's been about nine years now.

Excellent Scratch-Building Article

Whenever I see a good scratchbuilt model, whether it was for static display, or for gaming, I'm always impressed... and depressed because I have never been very good at that.

Well, this article hits scratch-building from the theoretical standpoint more than the practical. This is perfect for me, since I know how to glue things together, but when I do it it doesn't always look like it makes sense. This article shows you how to make it look like it makes sense.

The writer mentions my friends, Randy Cooper, as one of his influences. Let me tell you, Randy is definitely one of the best. His stuf is amazing. You can see some of his work here - and even buy some of it.

I Want a Halo RPG!

After watching the latest teaser for Halo 3 (which is still quite a ways from completion) I came to the conclusion that I want to play one of these guys. I want to wade into areas full of bad guys and lay waste to them with my guns and guts. I want to kick some serious butt... and I want to do it in a RPG. So, what do you think is the best RPG to simulate Halo?
