February 1, 2344-The Galileo's shuttle returns to Earth carrying three surviving expedition members, who still appear to be the same age they were when they departed. They report that they have, indeed, made contact with an extraterrestrial race-and become enmeshed in a conflict that brought them face to face with the most apocalyptic force in the galaxy.

It is up to Director General John Shillinglaw to piece together the puzzle created by these events- for the survivors tell their stories from their own conflicting perspectives. And the truth is more difficult to glean than it appears.

Yeah, we don't carry any fiction if it isn't game related, but I bring this up for two reasons:

First, I'm a huge fan of Allen's work. Ever since 1988 and seeing his stuff in Asimov's. I've always liked his ability to do science fiction but make the characters more "working class" than you normally see in traditional sf. I've read every one of his novels, but not all of his short fiction... yet.

Second, Allen was once my neighbor and is still a friend and occasional customer in the store. So he gets free advertising here whenever something new comes out. That's just how it works.

Anyway, I'm a few chapters in and it looks to be another good read. I'm really looking forward to another good story set in the Coyote universe.
