Gary Gygax, creator of Dungeons & Dragons, dead at 69

Steve at Troll Lord Games has reported that Gary Gygax, one of the original creator's of Dungeons & Dragons, has died.
He had apparently been in poor health for a while. In one interview he is quoted as saying that this had forced to quit his pack-a-day smoking habit (which he enjoyed - go figure).
I'm not sure what else to say at this point. Whatever you may think of Dungeons & Dragons as a game, there's no denying the affect that this man had on the gaming world. Roleplaying, Experience Points, Levels... yeah, that was those guys. Every roleplaying game owes a debt to these guys. Do you like World of Warcraft? Yeah, he's pretty much ultimately responsible for that too.
It's a sad day for gamers everywhere.
