Race for the Galaxy Back in Stock
In Race for the Galaxy, players build galactic civilizations by game cards that represent worlds or technical and social developments. Each turn each player chooses one action, but the others will share in the actions chosen, each player secretly and simultaneously chooses one of seven different action cards and then reveals it. Only the selected phases occur. For these phases, every player performs the phase’s action, while the selecting player(s) also get a bonus for that phase.
That's the official line, but in the real world it's an incredibly addictive card game that seems to suck players in until they eschew all other activities. It has the ability to draw people in unlike anything I've seen before since Magic: The Gathering (and this isn't even collectible). The really interesting part of all of this is that it's not a particularly simple game. It takes a few plays to really wrap your head around it but once that happens, you're lost.
Anyway, the thing is that we just got this back in stock after its months-long hiatus from in-print status. Grab your copy before they're gone again.
